This is my first time blogging. I have always been pretty good with computers, or so I thought. So, after reading chapter four, visiting web quest(in the case of web construction garden quest was used), and also web 2.0. I realized there is a lot more to computers, or the internet.
Chapter four provided a lot of insight on different ways technology can be in a classroom or even just out in the world. It showed several different types of web pages that could be provided to your students to help them, like Poetry Forge
I cannot really mention what reinforced me, because what I knew was no where close to what I gained from this reading and the websites. I will use Power Point projects, and Writing assignments. I will show my students ways to design outlines to write their paper. I will begin by having the student pick a topic, then brainstorming the idea, structure the story, prepare the text that will be used, editing the text, and negotiating meaning of any of the tasks. I will have the student get into small groups and read each others papers, and share thought. In most schools in my area there are not a lot of computers, but I will also attempt to show my students how to use the internet to Blog or open discussion over a topic. I think that this will allow students to have an open mind.
I am hoping I did this Blog right. (http://www.poetryforge.org), it offers tools to support creative writing. It explains way to show/help your student be more creative in their writing. I really didn’t know to much about using links to provide information, to both me and my students. As mentioned before I normally used Google to provide my information. I also gained information from Garden Quest, I looked through several different programs, and there were some really neat projects, and subjects to discuss. Some of them, have made me look forward to having my own classroom and assigning these projects, just to see the students responses.
